Can I bring someone with me to my reading?

Each reading is a unique experience for the individual I am working with, for this reason I do not allow anyone else into our energy field while I am connecting with your Spirit Guides and loved ones. Often times, sensitive information may be brought forward and I hold space for you to feel through your emotions without worry about your privacy and confidentiality.

What should I do to prepare for a reading?

Once you book your session with me I recommend that you find a quiet space to clear your head. Talk to your Spirit Guides and loved ones you want to hear from and set your intentions for the reading. Ask them things such as helping to guide you on a specific area you want help with or ask them to come through to validate that they are ok on the other side. Let them know to come to me when I call upon them.

How do I get the most out of my reading?

I tell all my clients that it is best to enter into the session with an open mind but more importantly an open heart. If you feel hesitant at all, your energy will be closed off making it harder for a true connection. It’s ok to converse with me during the session. If I feel you are telling me to much I will stop you to allow Spirit to speak. So, ask yourself, am I truly ready? If you answer yes, book the session!

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique in which providers channel universal life force energy to promote balance in the body’s energy systems which aids in physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. A provider places their hands just above the body to help guide energy. To become a provider, you must go through an attunement ritual in which a Reiki Master grants a student the ability to connect and channel universal life force energy. Sacred symbols are used to enhance the students ability to receive and transmit healing energy.

What should I expect to feel during an Energy Cleanse & Chakra Balancing session?

Generally, clients feel a deep relaxation and a sense of calm. Some people will experience a tingly warm sensation as the energy flows. If you feel nothing beyond a peaceful state, that is OK. Everyone experiences this differently but the most important thing is to allow your body and mind to drift into a state of relaxation so that your energy can flow. You may feel the effects from your session in the following days so it is important to drink lots of water.

Is there any physical contact during an Energy Cleanse & Chakra Balancing session?

No, there is no contact between myself and the client. Everything is done while distancing myself.

What is a Death Doula?

A death doula is a non-medical professional who provides holistic support, guidance, and companionship to individuals at the end-of-life and helps to support their families, similar to a birth doula, but for the dying process.

What makes The Modern Oracle’s Death Doula services so different from other doulas?

Not all death doulas are mediums, trained in energy work and are ordained ministers. These are some attributes that I bring to my work that help make me stand out from others. While every death doula brings a special companionship and care to their service, it is important to think about what it is you actually want as you start to plan your end-of-life care and meet with someone who you feel connected to. I may not be everybody’s cup of whiskey, and that’s ok, I will still offer you recommendations to other doulas or other services that may be available to you.

When should I start working with a Death Doula?

You can start working with a Death Doula at any point, from as early as receiving a terminal diagnosis, entering active dying, or after a transition to help the family process grief. The earlier you start, the more time your doula has to create a calming and peaceful transition and assist with legacy projects. Even if you are just advanced in age and starting to think about how you can make things easier for your family if you got sick, you can start working with a doula to get all your wishes and documents and legacy work done, this can make things easier for you and your family by taking the stress out of what needs to be done if you got ill.

How do you charge for your Death Doula Services?

Not everyone’s death journey is the same and so people will want/need different types of care that I can provide as a death doula. To make this service accessable to as many people as possible I offer tiered plans that can be customized. Services are charged by the hour. I want to work with my clients so that they can have the type of death they want to have.

How do I pay for your Death Doula Services when we don’t know when someone will actually pass?

I understand, death is unpredictable, especially for terminally ill patients already in the active dying phase. Once you pick your tier of service you wish to have and we established a base hourly charge I will sit with you and determine how many hours each week you wish to have me come and be with you. I will invoice you for those service hours the week before and you have till Friday to fulfill the payment or forgo services for that week. You can pay up to 4 weeks in advance if you know how many hours you plan to need, however, I do not refund payments. If my client transitions while there are still hours paid for, those service hours transition into post-death care and support for the family.

Why don’t you issue refunds?

I value my clients time and mine. When a service is booked that means that is time that I could not be available for another client. For mediumship and energy balancing sessions, every attempt will be made to reschedule your appointment if you provided at least 24hrs notice, however, if you no show/no call to an appointment you will not be rescheduled or refunded. If you no show or no call twice with me, you will no longer be accepted as a client.

For death doula work, these services are paid in full the week prior. If a client transitions before the paid hours have been fulfilled, those hours transition into post-death care and support for the family. The family can continue to pay for death doula services to continue to receive grief counseling and support and if needed funeral and post-death house organization. I can also officiate any funeral or eulogy ceremonies.

How do I know when you are going to be at an event?

When you sign up with your email I will send out notices when I will be at Spirit Fairs and Oddities and Curiosities Markets.
